CR4TS AND OAK

Oncology and Kids is the childhood oncology organization that provides a voice, community, and sense of normalcy for children with cancer and their families who need to recover from the emotional toll of diagnoses and treatment. Making sense of the complex emotions that arise from living with cancer is especially difficult for children. OAK empowers kids to process and express their feelings—in their own time, in their own words, by providing safe spaces for children affected by cancer and their families to create lasting memories and lifelong friendships.

From leadership to volunteers, Oncology and Kids assembles people with the right skills, values, and experience. Each member of the OAK family is driven by a relentless commitment to improve the lives of kids affected by cancer. We care for the often overlooked emotional wellbeing of young patients to help families reclaim the sense of normalcy that a pediatric cancer diagnosis takes away.

Oncology and Kids programs offer common ground for instant connections, rooted in acceptance, support, and shared experiences; with the flagship program being Camp Reach for the Sky. CR4TS offers camping adventures throughout the year that are free of cost to the families. These camps include: Resident Oncology Camp, Siblings Camp, Day Camp, Teen/Adolescent-Young Adult Weekend, and a Family Camp Weekend.

Since its inception in 1983, Camp Reach for the Sky has hosted children and families from all different walks of life; who happen to share a deep, personal connection. This unique bond develops instantly and transcends the distances and differences that separate us. It’s the reason why many families plan their entire year around one week….a week that most of our campers and volunteers will say is their favorite of the year. We’ve built a community of the most amazing kids and their families who support each other and take care of its own. This is the family we choose, and together we are mighty!
